Hi I’m Rachel - a photographer based in Devon, UK, with a passion for nature and wildlife.

My love of wildlife began at a very early age - from stopping traffic to rescue injured birds, hedgehogs and rabbits to hand rearing magpies and kittens - my parents were never quite sure what I might bring home next. It was this interest which led me to travel and into a career in environmental protection.

Photography has always been an important part of my life. It takes me to a place where time slows down and calm replaces the chaos of everyday life. Living between the stunning landscapes of Dartmoor and the dramatic North Devon coastline, I feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery - the perfect setting to capture the region’s diverse wildlife and breathtaking views.

As a nature photographer, my aim is to produce images of our natural world in ways that you may not have seen them before. I have a particular love for detail, from intimate bird & animal portraits to macro photography where through a macro lens we can explore the tiny world not visible to the naked eye allowing us to experience the beauty and fragility of nature from a new perspective. 

In 2023, I launched Pure Images to share this passion - to inspire others to appreciate and care for wildlife, and to bring the magic of the natural world into your home.

In 2026, I expanded the business with the launch of Pure Images Print Studio, combining my love of photography and creative design to help transform other peoples treasured memories into beautiful keepsakes. The studio offers a range of bespoke photo gifts, professional photo editing, printing and framing services - helping to turn your favourite moments into beautiful, lasting prints.
